Version 6.55 (2007)

E-mail Print PDF

Now let's get started:

  1. Create a folder anywhere on your computer and name it Navi Hack.
  2. (For the purposes of this tutorial, I personally created my folder in C:\Jason)

  3. Create a second folder and name it Update.

  4. Download the file below and extract its contents (Bysin.exe, CECompressv4.dll, Navi_Title.bmp, Honda_emblem.bmp, and splashupdate07.bat) into the Update folder.
  5. 6.55 Update Files (42KB)

  6. Create or download a new background for your navi splash screen using either of the links below. Save your new background
and place it in the Update folder.
  7. The filename of your background MUST be given the appropriate filename that corresponds to you DVD version number, otherwise your background will not work.

  8. Place the navigation DVD in your computer's disc drive...you're going to copy some files from it.

  9. Navigate to your navigation DVD and copy these files below into the Navi Hack folder you just created:

  10. 07AVN.bin
    A0000_00.MNG
    DCA0.REG
    PRG_INFO.MNG
    UPDATE_APL.exe

  11. Next, copy 07AVN2.bin from the Navi DVD and place it into the Update folder.

  12. Right-click on the 07AVN2.bin file and select the 'Properties' option.

  13. At the window that pops up, make sure that the 'Read-Only' attribute is not highlighted. It should look something like this:

  14. While still in the Update folder, double-click on the splashupdate07.bat file to run it. A window will pop-up automatically...
this is normal. This will automatically update your splash screen for you.

  15. Now that your new splash screen is updated, copy the newly updated 07AVN2.bin file from the Update folder and paste it in
the Navi Hack folder. Your Navi Hack folder should now have the following files:

  16. 07AVN.bin
    07AVN2.bin
    A0000_00.MNG
    DCA0.REG
    PRG_INFO.MNG
    UPDATE_APL.exe

  17. Burn all the files in your Navi Hack folder onto a blank CD-R using your favorite 3rd party CD-burning software.
Do NOT burn the actual Navi Hack folder!! Only burn the files within it.
  18. I personally used Nero Lite 9.x (It's FREE!). Set the burn speed to it's lowest setting to eliminate any incompatibility problems.
    That's right folks...you can use a blank CD-R.

Avoid using rewritable discs (RW) and blank DVDs since none have been verified to work.

  19. Once the disc has completed, take it with you to your car.

Updating the Navi System:

  1. Put the keys in the car and turn on the ignition so the Navi turns on (you don't need to start the engine).

  2. Press the Open button.

  3. Pull down on the DVD tab with your fingernail to open the DVD unit cover.

  4. Press the MAP button on the DVD unit. Remove the DVD and place it in a jewel case if available, so you don't scratch it.

  5. Insert the new burnt disc you created.
    Close the DVD unit cover.

Make sure you've closed the DVD unit cover.

Don't forget to close the DVD unit cover!
Then, and only then, press the CLOSE button.

  6. The Navi System will restart when it senses a new disc. Don't Panic! After the splash screen and the Nag screen,
    you'll see either:

  7. or this:

  8. Press and hold MAP, MENU and CANCEL at the same time for about 5 seconds. The following screen should appear:

  9. Press Version.

  10. Press Download.

  11. You'll see the following screen for about 45 seconds:

  12. Next, for at least three minutes you will see the following screen. As it kindly says, don't shut off the car:

  13. Once it's done, the screen will go momentarily go blank and your personalized splash screen will appear.

  14. Eject the burned disc and insert the original navigation DVD back into your car's DVD drive.

  15. That's it...you're done. Enjoy! Laughing
